Child Trends reports that it is the “second leading cause of death among teenagers.” In fact, the Jason Foundation points out that “More teenagers and young adults die from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease, combined.” That is a staggering reality to face. So, what can we do to change this? How can we take proactive measures to prevent so many young teen from falling victim to suicide?
