Can You Ever Have Enough Productivity Tips?

Productivity, Career AdviceThere are many reasons to increase productivity at work. A raise, commission, promotion, or even just staying busy are all great reasons for upping your output. But raising it from an equilibrium is much more challenging than it seems.

Fortunately for you, we took the time to find the top 5 ways to increase productivity in your work environment.

  1. Goal Setting. The first step is to use the S.M.A.R.T methodology when setting goals in order to keep them attainable. This means making goals specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time oriented.

  2. Slow But Steady. Take incremental steps rather than going for it all in one day or you'll end up burning out. Taking many small bites out of a cake will help you eat it faster without choking.

  3. Take Breaks. This seems counter intuitive, but allocating time to relax will help you re-focus and keep motivated. Break times are also great for planning your next goal and grabbing a snack or drink.

  4. Divide and Conquer. Focus on one goal at a time, don't multitask or you will just waste resources and feel like you are not accomplishing as much. Completing an entire goal is much more rewarding than working on a small percentage of several separate goals.

  5. Don't be a Perfectionist. Let go of perfectionism. It is easy to feel debilitated if the quality of your work drops as you increase volume, but being productive requires compromise. It may take some time to adjust, but your work will eventually increase in quality as you acclimate to the new workload.
