While there is certainly no shortage of articles and reference material touting the importance of utilizing LinkedIn for both personal and professional reasons, many of its 300 million users (as of May 1, 2014) would still define their "LinkedIn Routine" as nothing more than accepting their most recent connection invites.
While "Keeping Your LinkedIn Profile Up-to-Date", searching for job opportunities, and accepting invitations is certainly important, LinkedIn has become so much more than that in the 11 years since it was initially established. During that time, they have made frequent changes to the look, feel, and functionality of their system.
